If The Walls Could Speak

Title: If the Walls Could Speak! (اگر دیوارها سخن میگفتند!) Year: 2022 Medium: Oil on Linen Dimension: 20” x 20” This is an alley in the heart of the ancient and beautiful city of Shiraz called Shamshirgarha. A narrow and stone-paved street with houses built in the old architectural style, and happy, pleasant and kind people. In this alley, there was a small and simple historic house that belonged to The Báb which was of particular importance to the Baha'is. Immediately after the Islamic Revolution of 1979, Ayatollah Dastgheib and Ayatollah Rabani Shirazi ordered the destruction of that house and all the houses of the Bahá’ís who lived in that alley. In order to force people to leave their homes, the government cut off water and electricity. Shamshirgarha Alley residents faced a lot of problems in daily life. They had trouble bathing, cooking, using refrigerators and other electrical appliances and many other issues. At first, the common people who were going to ...
