How sad is forced migration! With tears in our eyes and a heart full of pain and suffering, we left our beautiful homeland with empty hands and on foot, but we did not know where to take refuge. Finally, we settled in the deserts of Mahyar, near Isfahan. Our Baháʼí friends came to our aid and set up tents for us in that waterless and grassless desert, providing us with basic necessities for temporary living. But living for those three months in that desert without facilities was very exhausting. There was no electricity, no water, and we were in great difficulties in relation to our personal hygiene. Although the Baha'is regularly brought us water by tanker, not having a bath or a place to wash made it very difficult. The Baháʼís did not give up. Some baked bread, some weaved carpets for their livelihood. They often faced difficulties in cooking. But what will never be forgotten is the education of the children, some of whom took up this responsibility..
